Poem I wrote inspired by one by Carol Ann Duffy.
Scraping skeletons,
Intertwined lips,
Twisted spines,
And crooked hips.
Hold my ice white hand.
Spidery fingers,
Try as they might
Cold for eternity,
Porcelain white.
Kiss my cold white lips.
Broken teeth,
An empty head,
Two touching skeletons
Wish they were dead.
Hold my ice white hand.
A sad coloured man
Holds two drooping flowers,
But meters below
Time has been stuck, for hours.
Kiss my cold white lips.
I’ll kiss your cold white lips.
I’ll hold your ice white hand.
